To many of us who followed the tech news recently, the resignation of Steve Jobs didn’t come as a huge surprise. A lot of newscasters even speculated about his successor months before the news was finally released. Nevertheless, none of the diehard fans wanted him go, at least not for the foreseeable future. Apple has just announced its best ever quarter and some of the most exciting products are still in the pipeline. When the things are going so well why would he want to resign? May be the illnesses that made him too weak to run the day to day operations or may be because he is Steve Jobs. He will however, continue to stay at Apple as the chairman of the board. After all, Apple without Steve Jobs sounds like a just another tech company without a sole.
Over the years he has become a godly figure among Apple enthusiasts. It is not just because he saved his company form the brink of extinction and turned it around to be the most valuable company in the United States of America. It is also not because that Apple makes cool gadgets. It is rather the charisma he possesses which makes him an intriguing personality. If you ever seen a Keynote presentation at WWDC or any of his other presentation for that matter you would know what I mean.
While many of his peers appear to be either too geeky or out of touch he comes out as a person whom anyone can relate to. His presentations are top notch. Even a criticism about the competitors, he can deliver much more eloquently than any CEO that I know. For me personally, a commencement speech he gave at the Stanford stands out as one of the best. If you wants to know who this person is, the following video is a good place to start.
